New leader has served as interim president of Medtronic ENT since July.
March 12, 2026
By: Michael Barbella
Medtronic has named Sean Haag as president of its Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) division. He will also serve on the Neurosciences Portfolio leadership team.
“Sean is a highly strategic, people-centered leader with a strong track record of driving performance while building trust with teams and customers,” said Brett Wall, president and executive vice president of the Medtronic Neurosciences Portfolio. “He has led the ENT business with clarity and discipline during a period of transition, and his understanding of the market, the portfolio, and our customers positions him well to lead ENT into its next phase of growth in an increasingly dynamic and competitive environment.”
Haag has been interim president of Medtronic ENT since July. During that time, he strengthened the leadership team, deepened customer relationships, and delivered strong business results. His appointment reflects both the momentum underway in the ENT business and continued confidence in his leadership, according to company bigwigs.
Haag has nearly 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including 20 years at Medtronic, with deep expertise across leadership, strategy, and commercial operations. He has a strong track record of building high-performing teams and translating complex innovation into real-world value for patients and customers. Before serving as Medtronic ENT’s interim president, Haag was vice president of Marketing and Clinical for the AiBLE ecosystem within the Medtronic Cranial and Spinal Technologies business.
Haag earned an MBA in strategy, finance, and marketing from Carnegie Mellon University and a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Indiana University.
“I’m honored to continue leading the ENT organization and to work alongside such a talented and committed team,” Haag stated. “Our ENT business plays a critical role in improving the lives of nearly 3 million patients each year, and I’m excited to build on the progress we’ve made as we accelerate innovation, strengthen partnerships, and deliver meaningful impact for those we serve around the world.”Headquartered in Galway, Ireland, Medtronic is the world’s largest healthcare technology company, employing a global team of 95,000-plus workers across more than 150 countries. Its technologies and therapies treat 70 health conditions and include cardiac devices, surgical robotics, insulin pumps, surgical tools, patient monitoring systems, and more. Powered by our diverse knowledge, insatiable curiosity, and desire to help all those who need it, the company delivers technologies that transform the lives of two people every second.
